STEVE OSWALD BSc
Steve was appointed as Registered Manager in 2013 following a successful career as a health services manager in the Royal Air Force Medical Services and latterly in the National Health Service. Steve possesses a BSc in Health and Social Care (2009) and a Diploma in Leadership in Health and Social Care (2015). He is passionate about enhancing care and the care environment for residents and their families and friends. His aim is to manage the nursing home that we would like our loved ones to live in.
After qualifying as a Registered Nurse in Germany in 1997 I gained experience and developed my knowledge and skills through my work on wards such as stroke units, oncology wards, acute assessments units and Accident & Emergency. Cardiology was always of particular interest to me and this is what I specialised in.
After my move to England in 2007 I decided to leave the hospital environment, and set out to forge a career working with the elderly. I chose and settled at Goatacre Manor Care Centre.
Being a member of the senior management team at Goatacre my passion is quality assurance with the aim for all our residents to be able to continue with their chosen lifestyle no matter what age, disability or limitation.
I had been a Carer for 17 years before deciding to conquer Nurse training. Three years later I made it! I qualified as a Registered General Nurse Oxford Brookes University in 2009. I have been at Goatacre Manor Care Centre since 2010. Working here has enabled me to continue to practice my area of passion, geriatric nursing.
I also have a keen interest in pressure care, wound management and wound healing and I am one of the Tissue Viability Link Nurses at Goatacre Manor.
Steve, Nadine and Jodie are supported by a highly trained, committed and a genuinely caring team of registered nurses, care assistants, activities coordinators, administrators, catering, maintenance and housekeepers. The nurses and care assistants provide care 24 hours per day.
