Dear Mr & Mrs O’Dea

I would like to say a huge thank you to Goatacre Care Centre for the ongoing care that you provide for my mum.

I would be very grateful if you could thank each and every member of staff for me.

I have been so impressed with their efforts and particularly at Christmas, everyone was so happy and could not have done any more to make Christmas such a special time, not only for the residents but for the friends and family visiting their loved ones.

I also thought it was a lovely gesture on your part to bring your family round to wish us all a Merry Christmas.

I heard one member of staff say “I have had a really fun morning” as they went home.  For someone to say this, when they have just missed out on Christmas morning with their own family shows me how dedicated they are.  This is the way that all of your staff come across.

I know I should not single anyone out but the two elves were brilliant.  How reassuring to us that these two girls are so happy doing their work that they make such a big effort.

They have since given me photos of the festivities which I will treasure.  It was an absolute pleasure spending Christmas at Goatacre.  Please be sure to thank everyone for the continuing care and support that they give all of us.

Dear all

This brief note is just to say thank you from all the family for caring for Dad over the last few weeks.  Since he went into hospital, it’s been a traumatic time for everyone, especially Dad but we all felt that, although we would have preferred him to be at home, Goatacre was the next best thing.

All the staff I have met have been kind and caring, and I know that everyone tried their best to look after Dad and make his time with you as happy and settled as possible.  It’s a terrible shame that you weren’t closer to ‘home’ but we didn’t want to move him as we didn’t think we’d find another Home which would be anyway near as good as yours.

Personally, I will miss chatting to staff, residents and residents’ family members.  Strangely, my daily visits became part of my social life and I will miss meeting everyone.

Thank you again.  Please pass on our thanks to all staff.  Goatacre Manor is a very special place with very special people.

To all the ‘lovelies’ at Goatacre

Many thanks from the whole S tribe for the care you gave Mum over the last two and a half years.

We shall miss her, and to some degree, I hope you all will too.  She was a game old bird – one of the (almost) indestructibles who went through the war, “doing her bit”.  Had she lasted until Wednesday, we’d be celebrating her 94th birthday – quite an innings!

Again many thanks for your love, care and attention to the old girl.

My love to all.

Dear John and Margaret (O’Dea)

I really enjoyed being a part of the “Manor” family on Christmas Day. It was a privilege to be able to be a helper. The atmosphere was joyful and also very Holy in the way in which everyone, including you and your lovely family, all helped to make the presence of the Lord felt in our hearts. We all tried, in our own way, to do something beautiful for God as it were.

I hope always to be able to help and support you at Goatacre, even when David is no longer with you. I have been so blessed to have had him yet another year and that is down to the wonderful care and TLC given him.

Goatacre is such a family orientated care home where everyone is made special by the staff.
