Aquatic Therapy Facilties

Goatacre Manor Care Centre has a fully equiped aquatic therapy suite including an aquatic therapy pool and jacuzzi with facilities to assist residents in and out. It can be used by residents and their family and is available for private bookings.

Occupational and Aquatic Therapy

The aquatic therapy pool, Jacuzzi and fully fitted rehab kitchen onsite at the care home have been of invaluable help in the past to people leaving hospital and is again offered to GP's and the Neighbourhood Teams, Occupational Therapists (OT) and Physio's to benefit their clients.

Our Commitment To Residents

We are committed to working with other health professionals in providing Respite and longer term care to their clients. Short term respite care can be used to evaluate how to increase a client's independence thereby giving their main carer greater freedom and improved quality of life which reduces the risk of crises occurring with carer "burn-out".

Aquatic Therapy Pool uses Pursol

The newly refurbished aquatic therapy pool area uses Pursol (www.purestsolutions.com) as the infection control measure for the water as the product has been proven to kill infectious conditions including NDM1 variants as demonstrated on www.purestsolutions.com. The benefits of using the decontaminant, Pursol amongst many are the reduced use of chlorine/carcinogenic materials, less irritation for skin and eyes, increased efficacy for cleanliness and disinfection, green footprint and environmentally friendly.

Pursol In The Carehome

From 1995 to 2003 Pursol was in full use at Goatacre Manor Care Centre until the technology was removed to UWE for a Home Office project (National Decontamination: see attachments). During this period the nursing home was an extension of Swindon Hospital with Consultants and their teams, Occupational Therapists (OT) and Physiotherapists attending the Home on a daily basis for their patients on a Step Down six week rehabilitation between hospital and home. During the six week period of rehabilitation the patients used our hydrotherapy pool, Jacuzzi and fully equipped rehab kitchen under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
